We are a bunch of farmers who realized that we could do a lot more if we pooled our resources. Instead of everyone going out and buying small amounts of fertilizer or seeds, we do it together. Our office is just a simple room with some chairs and a table. It gets a bit noisy because of the traffic on the road nearby, but it’s a good spot for people to drop in. We don't have any professional managers; we just run it ourselves. Sometimes the books are a bit messy, and we have to spend hours checking the numbers, but we get it done eventually. We talk about the crops, the weather, and which traders are being fair this month. There isn't any corporate polish here. If you come to see us, you’ll probably find someone drinking tea and talking about the rain. It’s a very local way of doing things. We just want to make sure the farmers in our group get a decent deal for their hard work. It’s a struggle sometimes, especially when the harvest is bad, but being part of this company makes us feel like we aren't alone. We keep going because we have each other to lean on in this business.
