If you head down Radaur Road, you’ll find us easily enough. Isgec is a big name in these parts, but inside the gates, we’re just a bunch of people working with steel and heavy machinery. The site is quite large, and it takes a while to walk from one end to the other. You can hear the sound of welding and cranes from the moment you arrive. We’ve got people here who have been part of the team for decades, passing down what they know to the younger workers who just joined. It’s a place where experience actually matters more than what’s written in a manual. We don’t have much time for meetings that go on forever; usually, we just talk over what needs to be done on the shop floor and get to it. The dust and the heat are part of the job, especially when the big projects are mid-way through. We keep our office space functional but basic because the real action is where the fabrication happens. Lunch breaks are usually spent in the canteen talking about local news or how the latest job is progressing. It’s a straightforward environment. We make things that are built to last, and we don’t feel the need to dress it up with fancy words.
