If you head down Railway Workshop Road near the ITI, you’ll find Jamuna Engineering Company. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and being near the railway workshop means there’s always a lot of heavy activity around us. It’s a bit of a noisy area, but that’s fine for an engineering shop. We do a lot of metalwork and repairs here. Our hands are usually covered in grease by noon, and there’s always the smell of welding or cutting oil in the air. It’s a practical place where we fix things and build parts. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy brochures for us. We just have a few guys who know how to use the lathes and the drills. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but we usually find something else to clean or organize while we wait. The building isn’t new, but it’s sturdy and it holds all our heavy gear. We get customers from all over the neighborhood who need something welded or a part replaced. We don’t promise anything we can’t do. We just take a look at the job, tell them if we can fix it, and get to work. It’s the kind of place where you can just walk in and talk to the person doing the actual work.
