P. D. Metal Industries

Down by Hanuman Gate in Jagadhri, that’s where you’ll find P. D. Metal Industries. It is one of those old-school spots where the work is loud and the air smells like hot metal. We have been here for a good bit, and the building shows its age, but it serves us well. Jagadhri is known for this kind of work, so we fit right in with the rest of the neighborhood. Most of the day is spent listening to the machines and making sure the dimensions are close enough to what was asked for. We aren't really the type to sit in an air-conditioned office; we are mostly out on the floor. Hanuman Gate is a busy area, so there is always something going on outside our doors. We get a mix of people coming in, some who have been buying from us for years and some who just found us because they were passing through. Sometimes the power goes out and everything goes quiet, which is a strange feeling in a place like this. We just use those moments to grab a drink of water and wait for the lights to come back on. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. The guys working the machines have been at it a long time. We just keep our heads down and try to get the orders out the door without making a mess.
