If you head up to Sutkar village in the Holi area, you will find us at Desh Raj’s place. We are a farmer producer company, and we focus on what grows best in this specific valley. The landscape here is beautiful but it makes farming a bit of a challenge sometimes. We have got members from all over the sub-tehsil. Most of the time, we are just trying to solve everyday problems like getting tools fixed or finding a better way to get our vegetables down to the bigger markets in the district. It is a slow process building something like this from the ground up. We don't have a budget for advertising. Word of mouth is how most people find out about what we are doing. We meet up when we can to discuss the latest farming techniques or to see who has extra seeds to share for the next planting. Being in the Holi valley means we have to deal with the mountain terrain, which isn't always easy for transport. But we have lived here all our lives, so we know the shortcuts and the timing. It is a collective effort. Nobody is the big boss; we just try to make decisions that help the whole group. Sometimes we get it right, and sometimes we have to try a different way next time. It is just life in the village, working together to keep the farms going despite the challenges of the high altitude.
