Sri Nalanda High School

We have been here in Central Excise Colony for quite some time now. Eluru is a quiet place mostly, but our corner gets pretty loud once the morning bell rings. You can see the kids lining up in their uniforms every day, some still half-asleep while others are already chasing each other around the gates. The school building isn't anything fancy, just a solid place where classes happen day in and day out. We spend a lot of our time making sure the fans are working because it gets really hot in this part of Andhra Pradesh during the afternoons. Teachers walk from room to room with their registers and chalk dust on their hands. It is just a regular school life here. Parents stop by the office to talk about their children's grades or to pay fees, and we try to keep things organized as much as possible. Sometimes the monkeys from the nearby trees come onto the roof, which causes a bit of a stir among the younger students. We have a small playground where the grass struggles to grow in the summer heat, but the children don't seem to mind when they are playing cricket or tag. It is a bit dusty sometimes because of the traffic on the main roads nearby, but inside the gates, it feels like its own little world. We just keep doing what we do, making sure the bells ring on time and the lessons get finished before the exams start.
