Tjs (Atihar Jail Initiative)

You can find us through our mailing address at Po Box No 9955 at the Maya Puri Post Office. This initiative is a bit different from your usual business. We work with the Atihar Jail initiative, focusing on getting things made and helping people find a way to spend their time productively. The work happens in various spaces, and it’s all about teaching skills and making real items that people can buy. It’s not a polished corporate office setup. We spend a lot of time coordinating between the different workshops and the administrative side of the jail. There are a lot of rules to follow, as you can imagine, which makes the day-to-day work a bit slow sometimes. But seeing a finished product come out of the workshop makes the effort worth it. We don't have a big marketing budget or a team of experts. It's just a few of us trying to keep the initiative moving forward and making sure the supplies get where they need to go. Maya Puri is a busy industrial hub, so there is always a lot of noise and movement around us. We deal with a lot of paperwork and logistics to keep things running within the system. It’s challenging work, and it definitely keeps us on our toes. We are just trying to do something useful and keep the wheels turning for everyone involved in the project.
