Tiwari Handloom House

Tiwari Handloom House is tucked into Gali No.-23 in Chankya Place, Part-1. We are right across from Janak Puri, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us. The gali is quite narrow, so you have to be careful walking through when there are carts or bicycles coming the other way. Our place at E-3B is where all the handloom work happens. You can hear the sound of the looms from the street sometimes. It’s a family-run spot, and there are always stacks of yarn and cloth in different colors sitting around. The floor is concrete and often has bits of thread scattered on it, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a working house, not a showroom, so it looks a bit cluttered to most people. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just the breeze that comes through the door and a few fans on the walls. Most of the people working here have been doing this since they were young, so it’s just second nature to them. We don’t spend money on big ads or anything like that. People know Tiwari Handloom House because we’ve been in this same gali for such a long time. It’s a busy, dusty part of town, but it’s home to us and we wouldn't really know what to do anywhere else.
