Frame Vault

Down here at C-82, Laxmi Park, there is usually a layer of sawdust on everything. That is just how it is when you are cutting wood all day at Frame Vault. We have been in this little spot for a good stretch of time. People bring in all sorts of things, from old family photos that are falling apart to new posters they bought online. We spend our time measuring, cutting glass, and trying to get the corners to line up perfectly. It is quiet work for the most part, except for the sound of the saw. Laxmi Park is a nice enough neighborhood, fairly calm compared to the main roads. We do not have a big showroom or anything like that. It is just a place where things get put together. Sometimes a customer comes in and is not sure what color frame they want, so we spend time looking at different bits of wood together. It is not a fast process. You cannot rush glass. We have had a few accidents over the years, a cut finger here or a broken pane there, but that is the trade. Most of our tools are old and have been with us since we started. People usually find us because they live nearby or their parents used us years ago. The shop has a specific smell of glue and old paper that stays with you even after you go home. We just keep our heads down.
