Reema Speech & Hearing Clinic

If you head over to E-41 in Moti Nagar, you have to walk up to the second floor to find us. It’s a bit of a climb, but we like it up here because it’s a little further away from the street noise. Dealing with speech and hearing stuff requires some quiet, though you can still hear the occasional rickshaw horn from downstairs. We’ve got a small team here. Most of the time, we’re sitting in the small rooms working with kids who are trying to get their words right or older folks who can’t hear the television like they used to. The walls are painted a light color that I picked out myself, though it’s starting to show some scuffs near the floor. We have a lot of different hearing aids scattered around on the desks and sometimes the testing equipment takes a minute to warm up. Moti Nagar is always bustling, so it’s nice to have this little spot where things slow down. We don't do anything flashy. It's just about helping people communicate better. Sometimes the tea runs out before noon and we have to send someone out to the market. It’s a normal office, really. We spend our days listening, literally. It gets tiring by five o'clock, but when a child finally says a word clearly, it feels like we’ve done a decent job. We’re just local people trying to help out neighbors with their hearing.
