Rajasthan General Store

Rajasthan General Store is our little business on Dal Mill Road in Uttam Nagar. The address is A 73, and we’ve been here for quite some time. It is a very busy street with a lot of people always moving around. Our shop is where we keep all the basic things a house needs. We have bags of rice, different kinds of dals, and all the oils for cooking. The name comes from where our family is originally from, even though we’ve been in Delhi for years now. Uttam Nagar is a crowded place and the lanes can be tight, but we like the energy here. The shop is small and we have to stack things high up to the ceiling to make everything fit. It isn't a fancy place with air conditioning or anything like that. We just have a couple of fans going when it gets hot. People come in for their monthly groceries or just to get a packet of salt. We know most of the customers because they live in the nearby buildings. Sometimes the traffic on Dal Mill Road makes it hard for the supply trucks to reach us, but we manage. We start our day early with the milk delivery. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to people, which is fine by us. We are just a local shop trying to be useful to the neighborhood.
