Param General Stores

Param General Stores is right in the middle of the Maya Puri DDA Market in Hari Nagar 22. It is always busy here, especially in the mornings when everyone is out getting their groceries. We have bags of flour and rice stacked up near the entrance because there isn't enough room on the shelves. The smell of spices is pretty strong once you walk inside. We spend a lot of time weighing things out or looking for specific brands that people ask for. It is a lot of lifting and moving crates around. The floor is concrete and has some cracks, but it holds up fine. We have a big register at the front that has seen better days. Every day is mostly the same, just checking the stock and talking to the regular customers who have been coming here for years. We know who wants what before they even say anything. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come in for sweets and make a bit of a mess. It can get quite hot in the back room where we keep the extra stuff. We don't have a fancy display or anything. We just put the items where they fit. It is just a plain store run by people who live nearby and know the area well. We stay open pretty late to make sure everyone gets what they need after work. It’s hard work but it’s what we do.
