Pakwan

Our shop is number 9 in the DDA Market Complex over in Vikaspuri. It’s right opposite the PVR ticket counter, so we get a lot of people who are waiting for their movie to start or just finished one. It’s a typical Delhi market spot. It's not very big, just a simple place in the complex. We’ve been here long enough to see the shops around us change owners three or four times. The market is always buzzing, especially in the evenings when the lights come on. We have a few tables where people can sit. It’s usually a mix of teenagers and families. The kitchen is small but we manage. Sometimes it gets a bit messy when we’re busy, but we try to keep up with the cleaning. We don’t have a fancy website or anything. We just rely on the people walking past the cinema. The staff is just a couple of guys who live nearby. We deal with the usual Delhi weather, freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer. Sometimes the market association has some issues we have to attend to. We don't have any big goals, we just want to make sure the stove stays lit and the customers are fed. It’s a straightforward business. We show up, work the shift, and go home.
