New Khalsa Restaurant

We are tucked away in Mayapuri Industrial Area Phase 2, near Hotel Maya Place. Being in an industrial zone means most of our customers are people who work in the nearby factories and workshops. It’s a gritty part of Delhi, and our restaurant fits right in. We don't have fancy curtains or expensive plates. It’s a place for workers to get a solid meal during their break so they can get back to their jobs. The lunch hour is always the craziest time of the day. Every table is usually taken and people are sometimes waiting by the door. We have to be fast because these guys don't have much time. The kitchen is a constant whirl of activity, with dough being rolled and big pots of dal simmering away. We use a lot of spices that we grind ourselves because it's cheaper and tastes better. The floor gets a bit messy during the rush, but we sweep it up as soon as things quiet down. It’s a loud, busy environment with the sound of machinery from the nearby shops often humming in the background. We’ve been here for quite some time now and know the rhythms of the industrial area well. We just provide a straightforward meal to the people who keep this part of the city running every day.
