Neesu General Store

Neesu General Store is located right in the heart of the Nihal Vihar area in Nangloi. It is a very busy part of Delhi with a lot of people living in close quarters, so there is always something going on right outside our door. Our shop is quite simple and doesn't have any of the fancy features you might find in a bigger supermarket. We just have rows of shelves filled with the things that families in this neighborhood need every single day, like bags of flour, lentils, spices, and various cleaning supplies. The street can get quite dusty and sometimes messy when it rains, so we are constantly having to wipe down the counters and sweep the floor. We don't have a lot of space, so we end up stacking boxes of stock wherever we can find a spare corner. This means the shop can look a bit cluttered at times, but we know exactly where everything is kept. Most of our customers are our neighbors who have been living in Nihal Vihar for as long as we have. We don't use any complicated systems or sales tactics; we just tell people the price and help them bag their items. Sometimes the electricity cuts out and we have to work by candlelight for a bit, but that is just part of life here. It is an honest, straightforward shop that focuses on providing the basics to the local community in a very practical way.
