Luxe Fruits and Foods is located in Bali Nagar, specifically at G-56 on the ground floor. We are right near the E.S.I hospital, so there’s always a lot of traffic and people around Ramesh Nagar. The office is basically a big room where we store some of the fruit samples and do all our paperwork. It smells like oranges or apples sometimes, depending on what we’ve brought in that morning. We started this because we knew a bit about the food business, but every day is still a learning process. It’s a lot of checking for bruises and making sure the transport stays cool. The ground floor is handy because we don’t have to lug heavy crates up any stairs. The walls are a bit scuffed from moving boxes around, and the desk in the front has a drawer that never stays shut. We don't have any polished mission statements or big goals we talk about. We just want to get the fruit from one place to another without it spoiling. It’s practical work. Most of our time is spent talking to drivers or looking at invoices. We usually have a radio playing in the background to keep things from being too quiet. It’s an honest way to make a living, even if the hours are long and the work is a bit repetitive sometimes. We like being here in West Delhi.
