If you are looking for us, you have to head up to the second floor of the Balbir Singh Palace in Jawala Heri Market. It’s number 48. Being on the second floor means we don't get as many random people walking in as the shops on the ground level, but we stay busy with our regular work. We deal with all sorts of batteries here at Kulbir Battery Corporation. The space is filled with heavy units and cables. It’s not the easiest thing hauling stuff up to the second floor, but we have a system for it now. Jawala Heri is a busy market in Paschim Vihar, so there is always something going on downstairs. Up here, it’s a bit more contained. We spend our time checking voltages and making sure the stock is rotated. The office part is just a desk with a lot of old ledgers and a computer that’s seen better days. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a practical place for people who need power solutions. Sometimes the power goes out in the market itself, which is ironic for a battery shop, but we just carry on. We’ve been in this spot for a while and the people in the neighboring offices are like family. It’s just an honest, local business that keeps moving along. Most days we are done by seven.
