Being in the middle of Main Market in Rajouri Garden means things are always loud and busy right outside our door at H-55. We’ve been running Khanna Gems Pvt. Ltd. from this spot for quite some time. The shop isn't huge, but we have enough room for the display cases and a couple of chairs for people to sit while they look at stones. Most of the day is spent looking through small packets of gems or talking to regulars who drop in to see what's new. It’s a lot of sitting under bright lights to see the details in the stones, which can be tiring for the eyes after a few hours. We get all sorts of people walking in from the street, some just curious and others who know exactly what they want. Rajouri Garden is a hectic place, especially in the evenings when the market really picks up. Sometimes we have to step out just to get a bit of fresh air away from the jewelry counters. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just us handling the sales and the sourcing. The glass on the counters needs constant cleaning because of all the fingerprints left by visitors throughout the day. It’s a practical way to earn a living, dealing with these small pieces of rock and metal every day. We just open up in the morning, do our work, and close when the market finally starts to quiet down. There is always a lot to keep track of.
