Najafgarh Road is one of those places that never really sleeps. Our shop is located at 71/2, A-3, in the industrial area. Most people just call it the Rama Road area. Moti Nagar is the closest landmark if you are coming from the main road. We do engineering work here. It is a lot of metal, grease, and drawings spread out on old wooden tables. The building is not brand new and it has that old industrial smell of oil and iron. We have been at this spot for a long time. People come in with parts that need fixing or designs that need making for their own shops. We have a few lathes and some old machines that still run better than the new ones we see. It is a practical environment. No one wears suits here. We are usually in overalls or just old clothes that can get dirty without it being a problem. The tea stall around the corner is where we spend our breaks talking. Sometimes it gets really loud when all the neighboring shops are working at the same time. Being in an industrial area means there is always something going on outside. We just stay focused on our own bench and the jobs we have. It is an honest way to make a living. Nothing too complicated about it. We just do the engineering work that comes our way at Rama Road.
