Himalaya Sagar

We are tucked away in Milap Nagar, which is right by the Uttam Nagar East metro station. Being so close to the metro means there are always people walking by. It’s a very busy part of Delhi. Most days, I’m just trying to keep up with the pace of the street. We’ve been here in Uttam Nagar for a long time now. The shop is a bit small, but we make it work. It gets quite crowded in the afternoons. Sometimes the rain makes the street messy, and we have to keep mopping the floor to keep it clean. It’s just me and a couple of helpers. We don't have a fancy office or anything. Most of our day is spent talking to customers or checking our stock. If you live around here, you’ve probably walked past us a hundred times. We know a lot of the shopkeepers on this block. We look out for each other. It’s a tight-knit community despite how many people move through every day. I try to stay organized, but sometimes things get a bit chaotic when it's busy. That’s just life in this city. We don't put on any airs. We just provide what we have and try to be fair with everyone. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We aren't doing anything world-changing, just running a business and making sure we get home on time. It is what it is.
