Grovers Angithi

Grovers Angithi is our small place in Vikaspuri, Delhi. We are at G43 in J Block, right in the Vikas Pure Extension on the Outer Ring Road. The location is good because a lot of cars pass by, but it also means it is always dusty and noisy outside. We focus a lot on the angithi, which is a traditional coal stove. It gives off a lot of heat and smoke but that is how we like to do things. The shop isn't big at all. We have a few small tables but most of our business is people stopping their cars to pick up something on their way home. We started this place because we knew how to work the tandoor. It is a hot and tiring job especially in the Delhi summers. We don't have a website or a social media person. We just rely on the people who live in the J Block apartments to keep us busy. Sometimes the coal takes a long time to get going in the morning and we get a bit behind schedule. We just tell the customers to wait a few minutes. Most of them don't mind. We are just a regular part of the neighborhood. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just light the fire and start cooking every afternoon. It is just a normal, everyday business for us here.
