General Engineering Corpn. operates out of F-60 in the Maya Puri Industrial Area, Phase-II. If you know Mayapuri, you know it’s a place where people really work with their hands. Our shop is no different. It’s packed with machinery that’s been running for years, and we know exactly how to get the best out of every piece of equipment we have. We do a lot of general engineering tasks, which basically means we take on whatever comes through the door that involves metal and precision. Some days we are working on small parts for engines, and other days we are helping a local shop fix a broken tool. It’s not the cleanest environment, and there’s always a bit of metal shavings on the floor, but it’s where we feel most at home. We don't have a lot of staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from sweeping the floor to running the lathes. We aren't interested in sounding corporate or using big words to describe what we do. We just make parts and fix things. People come to us because they know we won’t give them the runaround. We tell you if we can do the job and how much it’ll cost, and that’s about it. The weather gets really hot in this part of Delhi, and the shop can feel like an oven, but the work doesn't stop just because the sun is out.
