Dahiya Provision Store

Dahiya Provision Store is at S-23 in Shivaji Park. It’s a nice part of Punjabi Bagh. We are a family-run shop and we have been here for many years. Most of our customers are our neighbors. They come here for their monthly groceries or just to grab a packet of salt they forgot. The shop is quite simple. We have racks for the soaps and biscuits, and the bigger stuff like rice is kept in bags on the floor. It can get a bit cramped when the delivery man brings new stock. We have to move things around to make space. The mornings are usually the most hectic because everyone wants their fresh bread and eggs. During the afternoons, it gets quiet, and I usually sit on a stool outside to get some air. We don't use any modern billing machines. I just write the totals on the back of a paper bag. It’s how my father did it, and it works fine for us. Sometimes we run out of specific brands, but people usually don't mind taking a different one. We know which families have kids and which ones like their tea strong. It’s a friendly place to be. We don't have any big missions or goals. We just want to make sure the kitchen shelves of our neighbors are always full. It’s a steady life here in Shivaji Park and we like it.
