Combined Engineer & Project

Up on the 7th floor of Jaina Tower-1, things are a bit different than the street level in Janakpuri. You can hear the hum of the elevators all day long. Our office, 711, is where we handle all the drawings and project plans. It’s often a bit chaotic with rolls of blue prints leaning against the walls and stacks of files that we keep meaning to organize. Janakpuri District Centre is a busy hub, so there’s always people moving around outside. We spend a lot of time on the phone or staring at computer screens, trying to get the engineering specs just right. Sometimes the chai from the downstairs stall is the only thing that keeps us going through a long afternoon. We aren't really corporate types, even if we are in a tall building. Most of us have boots and helmets tucked under our desks for when we have to head out to a site. The air conditioning works most of the time, but when it doesn't, we just open the windows and deal with the noise from the market below. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the math adds up. Sometimes we stay late when a project deadline is close, watching the lights of the city come on. Combined Engineer & Project is just a regular office doing regular work, trying to stay on top of the pile.
