If you go past the IBP petrol pump in Mayapuri Industrial Area Phase II, you'll find us at W S 109. Ashwani Kumar & Sons is a family-run thing, and it feels that way when you walk in. There are usually boxes stacked up near the entrance and the smell of grease or metal is pretty strong. We’ve been in Mayapuri for years, watching the neighborhood change while we stay pretty much the same. We do a lot of mechanical work and supply parts to people who come in from all over Delhi. It's a busy workshop atmosphere. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. Most of the time, we are just talking to customers or trying to find a specific part in the back room. The lighting isn't great, and the chairs in the waiting area have seen better days. But people don't come here for the furniture. They come because we know our business and we don't give them a hard time. My sons help out with the heavy lifting and the deliveries now. It’s a lot of work, and the days are long, especially when we have a big order to get out. We just try to be honest about what we have and what we can do. It’s a steady life and we’re glad to be part of the local trade here. It keeps us on our toes every single day.
