Visakhapatnam Steel Plant

Our place is located in Sector Vi of Ukkunagaram. It’s a big area, and we are at 108/B. Working with steel is what everyone around here does. It’s part of the life in Visakhapatnam. The plant is huge and there’s always smoke or noise coming from somewhere. It’s an industrial life, for sure. We spend our shifts making sure the output is consistent. It can get very hot near the furnaces, and you have to be careful all the time. Many of us have lived in the township for years. Our kids go to the schools nearby. It feels like a little world of its own within the city. We aren't into fancy talk or complicated theories. We just know how to handle the metal and keep the production lines moving. Some days are long, and the work is physically draining. But there’s a sense of pride in seeing the finished products heading out on the trucks. We’ve seen the plant grow and change over time. It’s not always perfect, and machines break down, but we fix them and keep going. We don't have a polished PR team writing our stories. We are just the people who show up every morning, put on our boots, and get to work in the heat. It’s dusty and noisy, but it’s what we do. We don't pretend it's anything other than hard, honest labor. It keeps the town going and us too.
