Essar Steel

Essar Steel is located out in Attu Nagar. It’s an industrial sort of place, so it isn't exactly quiet or pretty. There is always the sound of metal moving around and the smell of grease in the air. We spend our days dealing with steel, which is heavy and can be quite a handful when the weather gets hot. The yard gets pretty dusty during the dry season. We’ve been operating here for a while now, and we know most of the other folks working in the nearby sheds. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting things and making sure everything is stacked where it belongs. We don’t have a fancy front office with air conditioning that works all the time. Mostly, we just stay busy with the orders that come in. Some days the trucks are lined up outside early in the morning before we’ve even had a chance to open the gate. It’s a straightforward business. We don't do much talking; we just get the steel moved to where it needs to go. Sometimes the machinery acts up and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it instead of working. That’s just how it goes in a place like this. Attu Nagar is a tough area, but it suits what we do. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily grind without much complaining, just making sure the deliveries are loaded right and sent off to the customers.
