Rinl, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is a big part of life for those of us living in Ukkunagaram. Our specific spot is Quarter Number 317-F in Sector 6. This whole township was built for the people working at the plant, so it has a very specific feel to it. It’s 530032 for the pin code, and it’s a bit of a distance from the main Vizag city. Working here means being part of a very large system, but in our little corner of Sector 6, things feel a bit more personal. We deal with the day-to-day operations and the paperwork that keeps the steel moving. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit every day. Most of us just wear what’s comfortable and get on with the lists of things we have to do. The air sometimes has that metallic smell from the furnaces, which reminds us of what we’re actually doing here. We don't have a fancy page written by professionals. This is just us, the staff who live in the quarters and work at the plant. We have our own schools, markets, and parks right here in Ukkunagaram. It’s a self-contained world where everyone knows someone who works in the steel plant. We aren't looking for praise or big awards; we just want the plant to keep running smoothly so the town stays healthy. It’s a simple, hardworking life in Visakhapatnam, and we are fine with that.
