Oasis Pre School Academy

Oasis Pre School Academy is located in House No 31-21-12/2 in Shathavahana Nagar. It’s actually a house that we’ve converted into a school for little kids here in Kurmannapalem. Because it’s a house, it has a very domestic feel to it. We have painted some of the walls with bright colors and put up pictures of animals and letters to make it look more like a school. There is a small gate and a little bit of space out front where the children can play for a bit before they go home. Visakhapatnam can get quite humid, so we keep the fans going all the time. We have several small rooms where different age groups sit on the floor or at tiny tables. It gets very noisy when everyone is there, especially during snack time or when they are singing songs. We have a few local women who work here and they know most of the parents by name since they live in the same neighborhood. We use simple toys like blocks and puzzles. It’s not a high-tech academy with screens or anything like that. We just focus on keeping the children safe and teaching them their basics. The kitchen is always busy preparing small things or cleaning up after the kids. It feels more like a big family than a formal institution. There are always little shoes piled up by the front door every morning.
