Lalitha Metals

Lalitha Metals is located at 540 Marrichettu Street in Akkireddypalem. It is a bit tucked away, but most of the locals know exactly where we are. We have been here for a long time, dealing with scrap and new metal pieces. The street itself is usually quite narrow, especially when a delivery truck is trying to get through. We spend our mornings sorting through what came in the day before. It’s not a clean job; our clothes are always stained with rust or dirt, but we don’t mind much. The shop is more like a large garage with stuff piled up to the ceiling in some places. We know every stack and where the copper or aluminum is hidden. There isn't a lot of space for a desk, so we usually do our math on whatever scrap of paper is handy. The neighbors often stop by just to say hello or ask for a small bit of wire. We don't do any big marketing or have a logo on our shirts. It’s just us working with our hands. Akkireddypalem is a quiet place most of the time, and we like the slow pace of the street. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon makes us slow down, but we always get the work finished eventually. We just like knowing our trade and being a part of this little community.
