Balaji Steels & General Store

We are located on Panchayat Road in Pasivedala, right at 3-2-147. Balaji Steels & General Store is a bit of a mix of everything. On one side you have heavy steel rods and construction stuff, and on the other, there are buckets, mops, and everyday household items. It makes for a bit of a strange-looking shop, but it works for the people living around here. We spend a lot of time loading stuff onto rickshaws or helping someone pick out the right size of nails. The shop floor is dusty because of the steel, and there never seems to be enough space for all the stock we keep. Sometimes we have to move three things just to reach one item at the back. It’s a family-run kind of place, so there’s usually a bit of talking going on while we work. Pasivedala isn’t a huge place, so we see the same people every week. If we don’t have something in stock, we tell them honestly and try to get it on the next supply run. The lights flicker a bit when the heavy machinery next door starts up, but we’re used to it. It’s just a regular store where we try to keep the inventory moving. It’s not always organized, but we know where everything is kept. We keep our doors open late most days because people usually remember they need something right before dinner.
