Om Shanthi Hr Sec School

Our school, Om Shanthi Hr Sec School, is tucked away at No 33 on Kulathu Pathai Street in Sankarapuram. It’s a part of the Villupuram area that most locals know quite well. We have been operating from this building for a long time now. It’s a higher secondary school, so we have kids of all ages running around the place from morning until the afternoon bell rings. The street outside can get a little cramped when parents come to drop off their children, but usually, it’s just a normal neighborhood vibe. We have different classrooms for the various grades and a small space for sports and playing. The teachers here are mostly from the surrounding areas, so everyone kind of knows everyone else. It’s not a corporate type of institution with polished floors and glass walls. It’s just a regular school with stone walls and wooden desks that have seen a lot of use over the years. We follow the state board rules and just focus on getting the students through their exams every year. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise in the heat, but that’s just how it is in this part of Tamil Nadu. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a place for the local kids to get their education without any big fuss or unnecessary extras.
