Sivalayaa Cbse School sits right on the Panroout Main Road in Ulundurpet. If you’ve ever driven through Villupuram, you probably know how busy that main road can get with all the buses and lorries. The school gate is right there, so there is always a bit of dust and noise from the traffic. It’s a straightforward building, nothing too modern or flashy. We have a big courtyard where the kids line up for the morning assembly. When the wind blows, you can hear the leaves rustling from the few old trees we have near the boundary wall. The classrooms have green chalkboards and some of them still have the old wooden benches. We try to keep things organized, but with so many kids, there’s always a stray bag or a lost water bottle lying around somewhere. Ulundurpet is a hot place, so by midday, everyone is looking for a cool spot. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, just the breeze coming through the open windows. The staff usually brings home-cooked food and we eat together in the small room near the office. It’s a local school for local families, and we’ve seen many siblings pass through our halls over the years. It feels like a part of the neighborhood. You won't find any shiny brochures here, just teachers working and kids playing during their breaks.
