Karthikeyan Traders

Our place, Karthikeyan Traders, is located at 9 Madapali, right on the Thirupathur Road. It’s a busy spot because of all the traffic passing by toward the main town. We deal with a lot of heavy items, so there’s usually a lot of clanking and shouting when we’re loading up the trucks. The office is just a small corner with a table and a couple of plastic chairs that have seen better days. We don’t have air conditioning, so we keep the big front doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. Most of the day is spent checking invoices and making sure the inventory matches what we’ve got stacked in the back. It’s a lot of counting and double-checking, which can get tiring when it’s hot out. The Thirupathur Road is always loud with horns and engines, but we don’t really notice it anymore. We’ve been at this Madapali location for a while now, and the walls are covered in old calendars and notes we’ve scribbled over the years. It’s a straightforward business; we buy things, we store them, and we sell them to whoever needs them. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic, so we just sit and wait, drinking tea from the stall next door. We keep a small radio on the shelf to listen to the cricket scores when the work slows down a bit.
