Arumugam Cement Centre

Our place, Arumugam Cement Centre, is located right at No. 9 in Municipal Colony. It’s on Kangenallur Road, which stays pretty busy most of the time. We’ve been operating out of this spot for quite some time now. Dealing with cement means things get a bit dusty, but we don't mind the mess much. It’s part of the job. Most of the people living around here in the colony know us by now. We carry different bags of cement and try to keep enough in stock so nobody leaves empty-handed. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time backing in because the road gets tight, but we manage somehow. It’s just me and a couple of others helping out. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. Just a counter and the warehouse space. People come in, ask what they need for their house repairs, and we load it up for them. It’s honest work. The weather affects things too, especially when it rains. We have to make sure everything stays dry. That's a big part of our daily worry. Kangenallur Road has changed over the years, more traffic mostly. But we’re still here doing what we know. It’s not a glamorous business, just selling cement to people who need it. We’ve grown used to the routine of it all. If you head down towards the colony, you can’t miss us. We stay open late most days to finish the loading.
