J P P Hollow Bricks & Blocks

We are located at 8 M C Road over in Alangayam. It's a busy spot right by the main road, so there's always trucks and bikes going past. We focus on hollow bricks and blocks. It’s a noisy business, especially when the mixers are going full tilt. We’ve got a small crew of workers who live nearby. They’re good people who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. The yard is usually full of stacks of blocks drying in the air. We have to move them around quite a bit to make room for the new ones coming off the line. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit confusing if we don't write everything down immediately. It's not a high-tech operation. We use what works and fix the machines ourselves when they break down, which happens more than I’d like. People from all over Alangayam come to us when they’re putting up a wall or starting a new building. We just load the blocks onto whatever vehicle they bring. Sometimes it’s a big lorry, other times it’s just a small tractor. We’ve been here for a few years now and the place has grown bit by bit. We added a small roof area last year to keep the sun off the workers, which helped a lot. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep up with the local building needs.
