C B Bricks

C B Bricks is down on Throwpathi Amman Koil Street in Usoor. If you walk past number 63, you will see the piles of bricks sitting there in the yard. It is not a quiet place because we are always moving things around with the old carts. The ground stays dusty most of the year, which is just part of the job. We have been here for a good while now. Most days start before the sun is even fully up because that is when it is coolest to work. By noon, the heat gets pretty bad and we have to slow down. We just keep stacking them up and waiting for the next truck to come by the gate. Sometimes the street gets narrow when a big delivery comes in, but the neighbors are used to it by now. My clothes usually have that red clay color on them by lunch time. We have a small shed where we sit when it rains. It is just basic work, really. Making sure the bricks are ready and the counts are right. We don't have a big sign or anything fancy like that. People just know where we are because of the temple nearby. It is a lot of heavy lifting and my back feels it at the end of the week, but that is just how it goes here. We try to keep things organized but when it gets busy, the yard looks a bit messy.
