Receptionist

This little office is tucked away in Room Number 17, Block 1 of the Mmc Staff Quarters in Vasco Da Gama. It’s not a big commercial space, just a room where we keep things organized. Mostly, the day consists of people dropping by with questions or paperwork that needs sorting. Being in the staff quarters means we see the same faces every day, which is nice because it feels more like a community than a business. We handle a lot of the small details that keep things running in the background, like answering the phone and making sure messages get to the right people. It can get a bit cramped when a few people show up at once, but we manage to find space for everyone to sit for a minute. The building is older, so it has that lived-in feel, and the hallways are usually full of the smell of someone’s cooking from a nearby flat. We don't have fancy computer systems or anything like that; we just use what we have and keep a good old-fashioned logbook. Vasco is a fast-paced place, especially with the docks and the railway station so close, so having a quiet spot to sort out the admin stuff is important. We just try to be helpful to whoever walks through the door and get the day's tasks finished before the sun goes down over the hill.
