M/S Zuari Industries Ltd. has been a fixture here for a long time. It’s not just a workplace for many; it’s where they live too. The colony has its own feel to it, a bit separate from the touristy parts of the state. We deal with a lot of moving parts every day. There’s always some truck coming in or someone heading out to the site. It’s dusty work sometimes, and the sun really beats down on the roofs around here. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. It’s just industrial work and making sure things stay on track. My desk is usually covered in folders and old notes. The tea man comes around twice a day, and that’s usually the highlight for most of us. We talk about the weather or the local football scores. It’s a community, really. You see the same people at the local store and at the gate every morning. It's not a flashy lifestyle, but it’s steady.
