Shri Cafe

We are tucked away at D-15/2 in the Maan Mandir area of Dasasumedh. Varanasi is a very crowded city, especially around this part near the ghats, so our little spot at Shri Cafe is right in the middle of all that chaos. The address 221001 is where all the action is every day. We get a mix of locals and tourists wandering in from the main streets. It’s not a very big place, just enough space for a few tables and some chairs. We spend our time making tea and coffee and serving whatever we have on the menu that day. The streets outside are always narrow and full of people, cows, and bikes, so it feels a bit like a hidden corner when you finally step inside. We don’t have any fancy machines or anything like that. It’s all very basic and manual. We focus on just being there for people who want a break from the heat or the crowds outside. I usually start the day by cleaning the front area and getting the water boiling for the first customers. There is always someone walking by looking for a seat to rest. It’s a simple life here in Dasasumedh. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a small cafe where we do our work and talk to whoever comes in. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy when there are festivals or ceremonies nearby, but we are used to it by now.
