A.S. Chicory

You can find A.S. Chicory over at 61, Sunhari Nagar. We are right on the Shikohabag Road, which stays busy with people traveling back and forth. Our building isn't anything special to look at, just a sturdy place where we do our daily work. Inside, it’s all about the chicory. We’ve got the drying racks and the bags lined up against the walls. The air always has that earthy scent that sticks to your clothes. My family has been around this area for years. We know most of the people who walk by every morning. The work is repetitive but it’s what we know. We start early, usually before the sun is fully up, to get the machines warmed. There’s always something that needs cleaning or a bag that needs stitching up. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone sitting in an office all day. If the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. Some days are slower than others, but there’s always maintenance to do. We keep the tools in the corner and handle most of the repairs ourselves. It’s a quiet life for the most part, despite being on a main road. We just focus on getting the product ready and making sure the inventory is right. It’s a simple way to make a living and we appreciate the routine.
