St Engineering

We’re over in Vapi, specifically at Plot No. 3103/3 in the 4th Phase of GIDC. Vapi is an industrial town, so it’s always moving and there’s always something being made. Our shop is where we do our engineering and fabrication. It’s a lot of steel and welding. The air smells like metal and work. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know the trade. We’ve been in this part of the GIDC for quite a while. Our day starts early before the heat gets too bad. We don’t use fancy language to describe what we do. We just take orders and build the things people ask for. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the morning fixing them before we can even start our work. That’s just life in a machine shop. We get people coming in from all over the industrial area needing help with parts. We listen, we measure, and then we get to work. It’s a basic operation without any frills. We aren't looking to be the biggest, just to stay busy and do the job properly. It’s a loud, busy place but it’s where we belong. We spend most of the day in our overalls, making sure the welds are solid. It's not glamorous but it's the work we know how to do here in Vapi.
