We are located at Plot No. 612, in the area they call the 100 Shed in GIDC, Chanod. It’s a rugged part of the industrial estate where there is always the sound of grinding and welding going on. Our shop is basically a big open shed where we handle all the engineering and fabrication work. It can get quite loud and smoky inside when the torches are lit. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just the big doors rolled up to let the breeze in. There are piles of scrap metal in the corner and tools hanging on the walls where they are easy to reach. Most of the guys here have been working with their hands for years. We wear heavy boots and grease-stained clothes because that is what the job requires. It’s not the kind of place you’d come to if you were wearing a nice suit. We spend the day measuring, cutting, and joining pieces together. It’s physical work that leaves you tired by the evening. The floor is stained with oil and there is always a layer of iron filings on the workbench. We take our tea breaks sitting on wooden crates outside the shed. It is a simple existence, focused on getting the metal shaped right. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just get the job done and move to the next.
