Panchal Engineering Works

Vapi is always busy, especially here in Phase-4. Our place, Panchal Engineering Works, is located at L-6129-1. It is just one of many sheds in this part of GIDC. If you walk inside, you will see a lot of steel and a couple of old lathes that have seen better days but still work just fine. The humidity in Vapi can be quite something, especially during the monsoon when the rain hits the metal roof so hard you can't hear yourself speak. We mostly just focus on the job at hand. There is no receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you’ll probably find me or one of the boys with grease on our hands. We keep a ledger on a shaky table to track what’s coming in and going out. It is not the most organized system, but we haven't lost a job yet. The neighbors at the other plots are mostly the same, just trying to get through the orders. We share tools sometimes when someone is in a pinch. It’s a loud place with the grinding and the welding, but you get used to it after a week. Panchal Engineering Works has been at this Vapi address for a while now, and the walls are a bit stained from the smoke, but that’s just how an engineering shop looks. We don’t try to make it look like something it’s not. It’s just hard work and a lot of tea to keep us going.
