Our workshop at C-1/B-92 in the GIDC area of Killa-Pardi is where we spend most of our daylight hours. It’s not a fancy office, just a solid place with a roof that’s seen better days and a floor covered in iron filings. We’ve been here for a while now, and the guys know exactly where every wrench and bolt is kept, even if it looks like a mess to anyone walking in from the street. The GIDC is usually noisy with trucks and other shops doing their thing, so you get used to the background hum. Most mornings start with a quick cleanup and checking the machines before the heat really kicks in. We do a lot of metal turning and fixing parts that people bring in from the surrounding factories. Sometimes it is a small job that takes ten minutes, and other days we are stuck on one piece of equipment until the sun goes down. There’s a tea stall just down the road where we grab a break when things get too hectic. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to write shiny brochures. We just focus on the drawings in front of us and try to get the dimensions right. It’s practical work. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in greasy overalls or arguing over a specific measurement. That’s just how it goes here in Killa-Pardi every single day.
