Vikas Engineering Works

Our workshop is located at 2007 in the GIDC area. If you have ever spent time in an industrial estate, you probably know exactly what it looks like around here. There is the constant sound of metal hitting metal and the smell of machine oil is pretty much everywhere. We have been here at Vikas Engineering Works for quite a long while now. We do not have a fancy office with air conditioning or anything like that; we are usually out on the shop floor where the machines are running. We do a lot of basic engineering tasks, turning parts on the lathe, and fixing things that have broken down in other nearby factories. It is manual work and our hands are usually pretty dirty by ten in the morning. GIDC is a busy place, so there are always trucks moving around and a lot of noise coming from the neighbors. We just keep to our little corner and get through the list of jobs we have for the day. Sometimes a machine breaks and we have to spend the whole afternoon just getting it back up and running again. We are not trying to be the biggest shop in the area, just a reliable one where people can get things made or repaired without a whole lot of fuss. We have a few old lathes and drills that have been with us since we first started. It is just a practical way to earn a living. We do not have a website or a marketing person. Most people just know we are here at number 2007.
