Sanjeev Steel Drums

At Shed No. A1-275/2 in the GIDC, that’s where we operate Sanjeev Steel Drums. As the name suggests, we spend our time with steel drums. They are bulky and heavy, so moving them around takes up a lot of our energy and space. The shed is often full of them, stacked up and ready to go. The sound of metal clanging is something you just get used to after a while. We aren't a high-tech facility with robots. It’s mostly us moving things by hand or with basic equipment. The GIDC is a busy place, and our shed is just one small part of that massive network. We don't have a fancy logo or a corporate office. Our office is just a small desk in the corner of the shed with some papers and a phone. We deal with people who need storage containers, and we try to get them what they need without any fuss. It’s practical work. Sometimes the sun beats down on the metal roof and it gets really hot inside, so we keep the big doors open for whatever breeze comes through. We’ve been doing this for a while and we know the ins and outs of the business. It’s not flashy, but it’s what we do. We just keep the production going and try to stay organized in the middle of all that steel. It can be a long day, but seeing the yard empty out after a big shipment feels good.
