Zahir Engineering Works

Zahir Engineering Works is situated outside Panigate, right across from the water tank on Ajwa Road. It’s a landmark everyone knows, so we just tell people to look for the tank. Our workshop is a practical space where we deal with engines, parts, and various mechanical repairs. It’s not a clean environment; there’s grease on the tools and oil on the floor, but that’s the nature of engineering work. We’ve been operating from this spot for a long time. The traffic on Ajwa Road is constant, and we see a lot of people passing by. We don’t have a fancy waiting room. If you come by, you’ll likely see us in the middle of a job, covered in a bit of soot. We just take things as they come. Sometimes it’s a small fix, sometimes it takes all day. We have a few regulars who have been bringing their machines to us for years. We don’t do any advertising. The sign outside is a bit old, but it does the job. It’s a small family-run type of place. We value getting the work finished properly rather than having a polished image. The sun beats down on the road in the afternoons, so we usually have a break then. It’s a simple, hardworking shop near the water tank where we try to keep things running right.
