If you come down to Plot No. 466-467, you’ll find us in the middle of the GIDC. We’ve got a decent amount of space here for Shri Ambica Engineering Co, which is good because the engineering equipment takes up a lot of room. There’s always a project on the floor, usually something made of heavy steel that needs welding or cutting. You’ll hear the clanging of metal most of the morning. We have some heavy-duty tools that have been with us for a long time. They aren’t pretty to look at, but they get the job done when we need them. The guys usually wear their old work shirts because everything gets covered in grease and dust pretty fast. We don’t have a receptionist or anything; if you walk in, you’ll probably just see someone busy at a workbench. We handle the paperwork in the evenings when things have calmed down a bit. The GIDC is a practical place to be, close to everything we need for the shop. Sometimes we have to wait on parts to arrive, which can be frustrating, but that’s just the nature of this business. We focus on the task at hand and try not to overcomplicate the process. It’s a straightforward shop where we spend more time with tools than with computers. It can be tiring work, but there’s a sense of finishing something solid by the end of the day.
