About Volga Ice Cream – Food & Beverages in Vadodara
Karelibaug is a nice part of town to live in. Our place, Volga Ice Cream, is tucked away near Kushalchandra Park over by Ongc A 62. It’s mostly families living in the houses around here, so we see a lot of parents and kids coming in. The shop itself isn't very large. We have the big freezers lined up against the wall. You can hear them humming all day long to keep everything frozen solid. When the power goes out, we all get a bit worried about the stock, but that’s just how it is in this area. We’ve got the standard flavors that everyone likes, nothing too weird or experimental. People stop by after their dinner walks in the park. It’s a bit of a routine for them. I spend a lot of time scooping and putting things into little cups or cones. My hands get really cold after a long shift. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but most people know where we are anyway. It’s quiet during the afternoons when it’s too hot for anyone to be out on the street. That’s when I usually catch up on cleaning the glass or checking what we need to order. It’s a slow kind of business most of the year. We don't have any big advertisements or a marketing team. Just the name Volga on the front and the address in Karelibaug. It’s been here for years, and we just keep doing the same thing. It’s honest work.
